What Happens During A Boudoir Photography Session?
From A to Z, here’s what you can expect when you’re ready to book your Boudoir Session with J&S!
Mini Session vs Full Session
Both types of Sessions include a complimentary Consultation, an hour of hair styling & makeup application, and a Viewing Appointment after your Session, where you’ll get to experience your beautiful photos being unveiled for the first time.
There are a few key differences between Mini and Full Sessions.
WHEN YOU BOOK A FULL SESSION:
- You can book your Session year-round
- You’ll be the only Session booked on your date, which means VIP service
- You’ll have a longer Session time and more outfit options
- You’ll pay your stylist directly on the day of your Session
- The Session fee is required to book ($300)
- There is a minimum order requirement of $500 at your Viewing Appointment
WHEN YOU BOOK A mini SESSION:
- You’ll book your Session on pre-selected dates
- Your Session will be one of three on the date you book
- You’ll have a shorter Session time with a maximum of 2 outfits
- Your stylist’s fee is included in the Mini Session Package
- The Mini Session Package is required to book ($550), which includes three digital images and a Retro Viewfinder
- There is no minimum order requirement at your Viewing Appointment
If you’re looking for a fully private VIP experience, if you want to completely customize what products you take home with you, and if you’re ready to book now with more scheduling options, a Full Boudoir Session is right for you!
If you’re looking to dip your toes into Boudoir, you want to plan ahead and snag a spot on an exclusive Session date, and you want more of a done-for-you package experience, a Mini Boudoir Session is right for you!

Ok, I chose my Session type! Now what?
Awesome! When you’re ready to book, you’ll reserve your Session date and time when you submit your Session Fee or Mini Session Package payment. I’ll walk you through this process step by step via email.
Once you’re booked, it’s time to schedule your complimentary Consultation via Zoom, or in-person at the J&S studio in Shirley, MA!
Your Consultation is where we’ll make sure all your questions are answered, we’ll talk about the Session experience in detail, and I’ll get to learn more about you and why having a Boudoir experience is important to you at this time in your life. My top priority is that we vibe well together, and that you feel comfortable with me and excited for your Session!
As your Session date approaches, I’ll check in via email to send parking instructions and how to prep for your boudoir experience. In the meantime, you’ll get to gather some outfits for your Session. Don’t worry, we can always make game time decisions for what to wear on the day of your Session if you’re not sure yet. Don’t forget that hair and makeup will be completely taken care of for you at your Session.
What happens at the Session?
When you first arrive at the Studio, you’ll get to see me do a happy dance because I’m SO thrilled for the confidence-boosting experience you’re about to have! If you did your Consultation virtually, I’ll give you a quick tour of the Studio.
The whole first hour of your Session is hair & makeup and pampering time as you ease into your Boudoir experience! We have an awesome stereo system, and we’ll play some music to vibe to while you relax.
Once you’re looking amazing, we’ll pick out your outfits for the Session and you’ll get changed. From there, the whole Session will be a celebration of you and your powerful body!
I’ll demonstrate every pose for you in my variety of custom-built Studio sets, which is a great chance for us to be silly and have lots of laughs during your Session. I’ll guide you every step of the way so you never have to worry about how to “look sexy” or what to do with your hands! You’ll be warmed up and having so much fun in no time.
After a couple hours of this, you might wish your Session could go on forever!
How do I see my Images?
After your Session, we’ll meet again (in-person or via Zoom) for your Viewing Appointment. This is where your whole Boudoir experience comes to completion and you’ll get to see yourself in all your beautiful glory!
In your Viewing Appointment you’ll see your final images unveiled for the first time, choose your favorites, and place your order. If you do your Viewing Appointment in-person, you’ll get to see and touch all of the gorgeous product samples, from our Retro Viewfinder, to albums, to wall products, and more! Once you place your order, it will be ready for you to pick up from the Studio (or pay to ship) within 2-3 weeks. I know you’ll love having this priceless tribute to your journey through life so far!
